Platypus in the flood

We have had a lot of rain in Sydney over the last week. And as we have seen with natural disasters animal’s can be affected too.

This platypus was caught on video near Jenolan Caves, March 2, 2012. It is very rare to see a platypus as it is a shy monotreme. But in the floods animals act out of character.

    • When the English took a Platypus home. They didn’t believe it was real. Thought someone and put it together using a duck’s bill and an otter’s body. But it is a beautiful creature and so special to see it in the wild.

      • Ive been to the gold coast, australia but didnt get the chance to see one … only kangaroos ….maybe next time .. thanks for the video ..
